How to find free guest posting sites
There are 6 steps I personally use to find free guest posting sites relevant to my niche. Write specific phrases in Google to find websites which accepts guest posts. Merge them with your niche keywords to narrow down results.
Search strings (Method 1)
"write for us" + [your topic] -"sponsored"
"submit a guest post" + [your niche] -"advertise"
"inurl:/write-for-us/" + [topic]
"guest post guidelines" + [industry]
"contribute to our blog" + [niche]
Example:
"submit a guest post" + fitness -sponsored
inurl:/write-for-us/ + digital marketing
The -"sponsored"
or -"paid"
part helps filter out websites asking for money.
Explore Free Guest Post Directories (Method 2)
These directories and blogs list websites that accept free guest contributions:
Examples:
- BloggingPro’s “Write for Us” List
- AllTop.com
- SourceBottle.com (journalist & blogger callouts)
- FreeGuestPost.com – a community to connect with guest post opportunities
- Twiends.com/blogs – find active niche blogs
Note: Always verify if a site still accepts free guest posts and hasn’t shifted to paid.
Check Blog Aggregators and Forums (Method 3)
Blog Aggregators:
- Medium Publications – Many Medium blogs accept guest contributors
- GrowthHackers.com – Browse for marketing blogs accepting posts
- Indie Hackers, Hacker News, Reddit (in relevant subreddits like r/SEO or r/ContentMarketing)
Forums to Explore:
- Warrior Forum (search for guest posting threads)
- BlackHatWorld (with caution — use for lead discovery, not shady practices)
Use SEO Tools to Filter Free Sites (Method 4)
If you have access to tools like Ahrefs, Moz, or Semrush:
- Look at competitors’ backlinks
- Filter links labeled as “guest post” or where the content appears under different author names
- Manually check if the site mentions prices for posting (no pricing = likely free)
Use LinkedIn and Twitter to Find Editors or Bloggers (Method 5)
Look for people who:
- List themselves as “contributor” or “writer” for multiple sites
- Share their recent guest posts
- Post opportunities for guest contributions
You can DM or comment asking:
“Hi! I saw your post on [Site]. Do you know if they accept guest contributions for free?”
Step 6: Pitch Smaller or Newer Blogs (Method 6)
Newer blogs are often looking for fresh content and rarely charge. Look for:
- Recently launched blogs in your niche
- Blogs with active social media but low DA (Domain Authority)
- Authors who don’t publish frequently (they may welcome help)
